It's our 30th Anniversary!
November 15th, 2015
30 years ago, a small group of individuals, passionate about supporting children with hearing loss met together in Saskatoon. This was the beginning of what is now Saskatchewan Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. Sask A G Bell then registered as a charitable organization in 1989. Numerous conferences were held, with world renowned researchers, deaf education specialists, parenting experts and motivational guest speakers. Some of these speakers included David Luterman, Daniel Ling, Margaret Tait, David Wood, Morag Clark, Beverly Biderman, and Stephen O'Keefe. Family socials and fundraisers were held and events included steak nights, a corn roast, bowling nights, skating nights, Christmas parties, and annual children's camps. Over the years, Sask AG Bell has provided numerous post-secondary scholarships to students embarking on studies after graduation. At our 30th anniversary milestone, we celebrate our past accomplishments and look forward to continued support for children and youth with hearing loss, their families, and all of their supportive educational and health professionals.
